RES 5 demo coming exclusively to 360

Capcom have sent the word out that a demo for Resident Evil 5 will premiere exclusively on the Xbox 360 Marketplace around the 26th January 2009.

The three level demo, set across two stages - Assembly Place and Shanty Town - is said to support co-op with the AI, split-screen and over Xbox Live. This will allow everyone to sample Resident Evil 5 the way they want to.

The demo has already been released in Japan, but at least we won't have to wait until the release date to have a play around with it. Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below!

25,000,000 sales coming up

Not much of a surprise really, considering all the price cuts going around, but according to Mindy Mount, CFO of the firm's Entertainment & Devices Division, the Xbox 360 will leap frog the sales of the original Xbox, and in doing so they hope to achieve the 25,000,000 landmark.

"By the end of this month, we expect our global installed base to reach 25 million units, surpassing that of the first Xbox"

25,000,000. That's some landmark to achieve. I only own 1of these units, but no doubt many of you 360 fans out there have bought 2 or 3 units. Let us know by leaving a comment below!

Gears of War 2 Review (X360)

Gears of War 2 Review (X360)

Marcus Fenix and co are back, and back to save the human race. Again the Locust are causing damage and are growing stronger and stronger. Not much can get in their way apart from Marcus and co. What am I talking about? Gears of War 2 obviously.

Epic’s sequel to the 2006 fastest selling game Gears of War has been widely tipped to become 2008’s Game of the Year. But is it? Is is better than it’s predecessor? And if so, why? So many questions, but does GoW2 give us the answers we need? Let’s find out. One thing I will say, you can’t help but feel a little nostalgia setting in.

You return as Marcus Fenix, part of the Gears troops. Your aim, to save the human race against all odds. The story starts up as you re-acquaint yourself with Anya from the first Gears. Anya, like in Gears1, becomes your eyes from above throughout the game, telling you your next mission. For gamers who have never played Gears before you have at this point the option to take on some training. Here you will get used to all the features found in the original GoW. The third person over-the-shoulder camera view is back, along my favourite weapon, the rifle attached with chainsaw. All my memories of the first game are flooding back at this point, and I can’t wait to get on with the game.

Gamers who have played the previous Gears will find themselves in very familiar territory. There are 5 Acts with each act dividing into different chapters. The story of Gears 2 really draws you in, as not only are you trying to save the human race, but you are also trying to help your partner in crime Dom find his Wife Maria (who has been captured by the Locust). Various cinematic cut-scenes during the game make this story very emotional (not that I was crying or anything, but you feel sorry for Dom and there is nothing you can do about it). You can’t help but want to go from chapter to chapter without stopping. It’s a bit like a great book, or a thrilling TV series. you just want to find out what happens next. The problem for me starts here. The story doesn’t seem to last very long. 7 or 8 hours max and that was playing the game n Hardcore difficulty. There are 4 different difficulties; Casual, Normal, Hardcore and Insane. You are unable to play Insane from the beginning so you have to complete the game on Hardcore first, which I din’t find very hard. Thankfully when playing on Insane the game becomes a lot more challenging.

As far as the gameplay goes things are pretty much the same. But why fix something that isn’y broken? So instead Epic have included plenty of new features which are all welcome and make great additions to the game.

GTA Sex Beast Caged

After playing a few hours of Grand Theft Auto IV, would you go out in your car looking for women that you thought were prostitutes? Thought not. But if you are 19 year old Ryan Chinnery then maybe you would.

"Ryan Chinnery, 19, struck after obsessively playing the violent computer game" today reports the Sun. "He drove around at night targeting women he wrongly thought were prostitutes."

Judge Philip Statman who sentenced Chinnery to 4 years in youth custody stated "Grand Theft Auto showed 'scant respect for women' and Chinnery's vile acts 'mirrored' the game".

Do you think 4 years in youth custody is enough? I struggle to understand these people but that's me. Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below!

Rockstar unsure if DLC will arrive this year!

Will the DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV come this year? Well according to Rockstar co-founder and creative VP Dan Houser, he's not to unsure.

Speaking to Variety, Houser stated: “It's going well, but we don’t know a date. We hope to be announcing that in the next few weeks. We're still figuring out a few things.

We're more focused on quality than dates, always have been. But the development is going really good. It's shaping up to be something we're very proud of. That was our goal.

Doing a big digital launch is something we've never done before. It's virgin territory, but at the same time, we feel very exposed because there's no case history. No one ever came out with major DLC for a major game like this before.”

Do you think the DLC will arrive this year? I personally don't think it will, but let us know your comments below!
